多くの実力派絵師が多彩に活躍した18世紀後半。なかでも天明(1781～89)から寛政(1789～1801)にかけての約20年間は、のちに「浮世絵の黄金期」と称されるようになりました。歌麿、写楽だけでなく、この時期に活躍した絵師たちの浮世絵をご覧いただけます。当時の技法を今も継承しているアダチ版画研究所の作品から浮世絵と越前和紙の魅力を再発見していきます。
The second half of the 18th century was a period in which many talented artists were active in a wide variety of fields. The period from 1781-89 to 1789-1801 is often referred to as the “golden age of Ukiyo-e. In addition to Utamaro and Sharaku, the exhibition features Ukiyo-e by other artists who were active during this period. We will rediscover the charm of Ukiyo-e and Echizen washi through the works of the Adachi Printmaking Institute, which still carries on the techniques of the period.
